Frequently Asked Questions

The Cooperative Housing Idea : 7. What limits are there on the number of people per residence?

Limits on how many people can live in each unit are set by federal law.

For a 1-bedroom unit, up to 2 people (adults or children) may occupy the home.

In a 2-bedroom home, up to 4 people (adults or children) may live there.

In a 3-bedroom home, up to 6 people (adults or children) may live there.

The limits are strictly enforced and can lead to eviction if the limits are exceeded
