Yes and no.  Residents in The Homes do not own their specific residences, but rather a share of stock in The Homes, Inc. that represents their homes.  There are 345 homes, so there are 345 shares of stock.  While the person who lives in a particular home has control over the living quarters and grounds, what each stockholder owns is 1/345th of the whole corporation.  The strict limits on occupancy and other matters are different from traditional home ownership, and part of the exchange for the many benefits and services provided through cooperative living.
